How long is spring semester at UNT? ›

The university will be closed so the entire campus community can observe the holiday at the beginning of the fall semester.

Student Load (Summer)

The normal load for full-time students is 12 hours for the summer term/semester. During the summer term/semester, a full-time undergraduate student with a GPA of less than 3.000 may select multiple sessions for a maximum of 18 semester hours.

Semesters in US universities

Classes in the first semester usually begins in August and lasts until the end of December, including exams. The second semester runs from January/February to may-June. Winter vacation lasts 2-3 weeks, summer 10-12 weeks.
